INTJ which I seem to remember as having always been for me on these Briggs Myers tests over the years. I think the first time was my Senior year in high school in '76. I had my daughter take one her Junior/Senior. Helped a lot.

Have taken this test several times and always get the same result. Good to know the test is reliable I guess. Never really understood how people could use this to "change their life" though.

I also find it interesting that so many here are introverts. I mean for a tech it seems normal, but most are also business owners which I would have guessed pushed the results more towards extroversion.

Yeah, it sounds like you are supposed to take the test, see the results and then hate who you are for some reason even though you were fine before.

Hate who you are? I dont think that's suppose to happen. Its more of a personal growth thing. Most people like the understanding and explanation of who they are. Empowering them to take control of there life. You have to read more into it from other sources. For example, I now understand why I handle problems the way that I do...this was huge in my life. Now I don't hastily make decisions when i don't 100% have a clear answer or when things dont make sense. It also explained my relationships.

One big use of Briggs Myers is in professional development. Take your example, which is classic. Yes, technically inclined people tend to be more to the introvert side, sometimes to the extreme. You can use training to modify this behavioral trait. If someone wants to move into other directions like sales or management, training goes along way to push them more into the extrovert direction. Important in being successful. Years ago, when I was offered a move to a sales job, I told them I was not at all comfortable doing that. The director of HR was like, nothing to worry about. You've got the technical skills which takes years to develop. Sales training will make you more comfortable. After taking a 3 day Professional Selling Skills course and a lot of pavement time I was much more of an extrovert. She was right. I was even taking them to lunch. LOL!!!

But they are telling you to change your happy existence because some online test said you were something you didnt realize. If you were happy, why should you become something that a website told you to ?

He was being facetious.

Well if he hasnt met any other INTJs yet he would probably feel like less of an alien =P I use the system to kind of broadly categorize people and improve my interactions.

Yes I never grew up around other INTJ's until I got to college so I did feel different then the avg person around me who loved to sit around and small talk all day long.

No offense but if the test truly is telling you things you did not realize then I would question the answers you gave to the test. Take other tests and compare the results.

I know I'm going to regret this.

Clearly, not a fun guy to be around!

I took another test and this was the result:

Which Power Ranger Are You?

You got: The Red Ranger
You are the leader of the pack; the rangers would be a mess without you in charge. Chances are, you like to keep a little control on things and you are really good at martial arts. And unlike the White Ranger, you can eat spaghetti all day long. ENJOY YOUR SPAGHETTI.

I mean yeah I love spaghetti, but this is just making it even more confusing.

Didn't worry about taking this one, but back in college I came up as INTP then later in corporate teambuilding stuff as INFP or INXP.
