I'm looking for some sort of software for Vista Home that will limit what people can do on a computer. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:

I'm having a party on Tuesday and I want to set my laptop up for iTunes to play music but I don't want people just walking by and using my computer, but I do want to allow them to only adjust the volume, pause, play, forward, and rewind songs. I don't want them to edit the playlist or use anything else on the computer. Is there any sort of software that I can get that will accomplish this?

Thanks in advance

i saw a article on something that may work it was configuring vlc to be remotley operated via a webbrowser if you did that then you could just lock the laptop down to only use the webbrowser on that page and then problem solved otherwise

if your laptop has thse multimedia buttons then lock everything down and use those dells tend to have them

Actually, I just started playing around with Windows Media Player and I noticed that when you switch the graphic view to full screen mode that you can lock it with a 4-digit PIN. It allows you to forward, rewind, play, and pause but you cannot exit full-screen mode or press the Windows key. Bingo!

I could probably do this with some Bluetooth speakers, but I currently don't have any. Anyway, if someone knows of some software then please reply anyway. I'm going to continue to look for some software to "lock" your computer in it's current state.

Thanks.

Why bluetooth speakers? What's wrong with regular speakers? It sounds like you have your answer with Media Player.

Bluetooth speakers would work so I can put my laptop in another room and put the speakers out where I want them. I suppose something with WiFi would work too.

I found something similar with iTunes, except there's no option to lock the screen once it's in a full-screen visualizer.

If the laptop's in another room, how are they going to switch songs, pause, play, etc?
