@sapphirescales I'm not ready to call Apple owners "insane". I do however point out to them the terrible ROI when asked, I service the platform as best as I can, and move on to the next client in line. Away from clients however, in tech forums like this... I'm utterly unforgiving of Apple's massive lack of value.
The brand has one purpose... status. Your car analog is perfect, people with more money than sense buying things just to make themselves feel good. Owning an Apple is very much like owning a high end sports car. All sorts of costs, no reliability, all status symbol. I'd say that's a bad thing, but if I leave things up to people such as myself, we'd all be in Soviet style concrete boxes for homes. I don't care what it looks like, I care that it works, I care that it's efficient, reliable, and does the job. And honestly, a world build entirely like that is boring.
And @overburnz , that doesn't make me a hater, that makes me critical of the platform. I'm critical of everything. But I'm also the guy that had 100% success with Vista, and Windows 8. I can make a turd sing, yet I can't make an Apple platform do what I want without fighting it. I'd rather use a corrupted install of Fedora Core Beta, than whatever Apple is calling OSX these days, less trouble for me. I do however have users that Apple works for, and I support them. But for me, Apple is 100% round peg into a square hole.
