The Automated Troubleshooting. That may be a nice thing to run at the end of Virus removal/system repair to see if there are any random things that may have been missed.

I've use one of the FixIt tools to repair the good old Print Spooler error messages: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324757
It works well and saves alot of time.

had a dvd drive on Windows 8 that would not uninstall or let me load new drivers. tried fixit and to my surprise It fix the problem. although if I'm honest I don't use this tool too much and have not had too much success outside of this problem with fixit

I find it useless for fixing update problems, but it is a very quick way of fixing the optical driver filter problem.

Had high hopes for it to clear update issues, but....total fail

(They should add to their fix it routine to clear out/uninstall a few months of past updates)

Only solution I've found for that is in the tweaking.com tool, if that fails a upgrade install is usually what I resort to.
