Microsoft announced today that they are resuming the optional cumulative updates for Windows 10 and Windows Server version 1809 and later, in July.
In March, as businesses started to operate remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft paused all optional cumulative updates.
As the world slowly starts to reopen and business operations have begun to stabilize, Microsoft has decided to once again resume these updates, but with some changes.
The optional cumulative updates are now being renamed to "Cumulative Update Preview" as they are designed for businesses to preview and test fixes before being released in the following month's Patch Tuesday.
