Hi everyone,

Had a bit of a strange issue where i've used SPFilezilla to migrate dropbox to a Sharepoint Online Team Site.

I had used the Dropbox sync client to download the entire dropbox contents (or so i thought) and then migrated with no issues, on further inspection though it seems for some reason dropbox just refuses to download some files, no errors etc. If i log in to the dropbox website I can see the files there, but they don't download through the sync client.

Have any of you come across this at all? I'm thinking of logging it with Dropbox support for now but don't know how good they are.

Ensure latest sync client, if already that, uninstall, clear, including index file, reinstall latest,....opt for full offline copy (download) of each..and let it rip again.

If same oddball files fail...look for the common theme there...such as unsupported file names. Yes this part can get tedious and time consuming.

Thanks mate,

Yep ended up being file name issues, the clients use macs and I was downloading the dropbox contents onto a windows machine hence all the issues I ran into.

OneDrive sync client was actually really good once it was configured, errors such as folder names ending with spaces etc were flagged in the sync client and the error messages were helpful for once.... :D
