Had to remove a nasty virus today the one that hides everything
It was one of those fake antivirus did not have a name all it said – scan pc for errors
I ran unhide that got some stuff back, but all program folder are empty, only a few programs so I reinstalled everything
My main problem is the missing folders on the right side of start menu windows 7

Control panel
Pictures
Music
Documents

Are missing, how can I recreate these shortcuts

I'm assuming you are using Windows XP.

Unhide.exe usually fixes these I thought but they are trivial to re-add.

Right click on the start button /left click on properties.

Select Start menu. Click Customize.

Change all the "Don't display this item" to "Display this item" or whatever affirmative listing you desire.

Go to Start and right-click on and open area of the menu, click on Properties. On the Start Menu tab, click the Customise... button, then at the bottom click on "Use Default Settings". That should make things look more familiar.
