I have an office whose owners are moving out of state and would like a security camera setup.

Requirements being:

Apple & Android App
Decent Quality
Decent DVR recording
4 + Cameras
Wireless (Maybe?)

Anyone have a recommendation they have experience with?

I've used the KGuard products in the past and they work great. Nothing 4k, but quick connection, simple app, easy management. Wireless camera's are available, but at a cost of course.

Beats out buying a $1K+ Axis or Sony system. (Though Sony CCD's are used. Always check for the best minimum lux rating you can buy if you are doing anything near dusk/night)

Do you have a specific model that you frequently use?

I was looking at the Zmodo stuff but they sell DVR kits for under $200 ... that seems pretty cheap (too cheap) to me....

really depend on the quality of system that you want...

and the quality of the images... do they need to be able to see the serial numbers on a 20 on the counter? if so stick a brick right over the counter with a 65mm lense on it, and focus it in.

wireless is easy and some systems have encrypted transmission but it messes with other wireless stuff sometimes, b/c it's all 2.4ghz usually.

for really good stuff try bluecctv.com

If quality matters, and lots of cams... http://www.bluecctv.com/index.php?cPath=1_4_60&osCsid=2l8c9o87gieajr2i6dmrke3jv7

I believe it was the Kguard NS Series, but can check on it later. 16 channel, 2 hard drive slots, h264 compression, definable detection areas.

At home, I have a wired 8 cam setup, 960H, 700TVL with IR going to a dvr. I don't have as much granular control as I wish I did, but I can see it remotely, get alerts, all that. I need to add more IR blasters outside. It was cheeeeeeap, like $300.

If I had the money to spend, I would go Ubiquiti Aircam. Excellent quality, wireless, great software, on-device encode so your dvr doesn't bog, etc. The new ones have IR as well. ~$100/camera, less for the interior ones. You can basically add almost as many as you want. I'm not a huge fan of wireless just because jamming wifi is extremely trivial and is subject to random interference---but then that's just me being completely paranoid.

I second this.

Having installed several recently.

Simple easy and reasonable video quality
