Here is my method
I number each screw hole on the back of the laptop. Then as each screw is removed it is placed in a tackle box with a corresponding number. The other method I have heard is that as you remove all the screws on the back of laptop, place each screw next to the corresponding screw hole and take several close-up digital pictures of this for reference.
