The clone backup failed. If anybody has an ISO for an Aspire One 532h-2588 netbook or similar please let me know. Am needing Windows 7 Starter.

Thanks!

Do you have a Win 7 iso? You can remove 1 file and it turns into an AIO disc that has Starter as well.

It is most likely 32bit on that machine. Is the COA readable?

Yes, COA visible. I have a "everything" Win 7 disc, but sadly Starter is not one of the choices. "Basic" is as low as it goes and that isn't for the US. If you have such a disc I'd be grateful!

Yes, it's OEM only, you can't get it as a download anywhere to save your life. :)

Funny you should mention Win 10. Tried it on the netbook aaaaaand....no. That's exactly what I am looking to wipe off.

Update: Found a 32-bit disc and good to go. Thanks!!

Any way if it was me I would clean install Win 10 x32 and use the key to activate.

I've had that fail 3-4 times now. Win10 rejected the key even using MS Win10 Diagnostics tool. Ended up going the long route of Win7->all updates->Windows 10 through updates. Not much extra hassle other than letting it run on the bench. A couple of these were registered and legal, but non-OEM versions of Windows.

Which version of Windows 10 did you use to do the install? The original 10240 Win 10 doesn't support using Win 7 license keys, but the recent 10586 Win 10 (Threshold) does.

Was using Threshold 2 but I think all the installs were on older machines that originally had WinXP or Vista, were N&P'd to Win7 and now going to Win10. MS keeps it in their terms not to offer upgrades to certain aftermarket but legal copies of Win7. Still, never had a Win7 that wouldn't eventually get to Win10.

You guys mean that win 10 32 bit will install on older win 7 starter? They usually have 1 Gb memory, upgradeable to 2GB, but I have stayed clear of upgrading these little machines. I thought win 10 would be too "heavy".

Yeah, it was not a good move. Win 10 is a slug even on good spec systems.
