New Business Card Design

We took advantage of a VistaPrint groupon ($70 worth of goodies for $17) and decided to redesign our business cards. First, let me show you the cards we're currently using. Ignore the fact that it's a scanned image... I was an idiot the first time around and created the cards IN VistaPrint, so I don't have a digital copy:

Currently we have 2 different cards. One with my name and address on them, and one with just the company name. (Backside is the same on both) We created the generic cards because we realized after the fact that we probably shouldn't have included the address of our home office. These are the cards we've been using for the past year and a half.



Now here are the new cards:

One of the biggest problems we had with the old card was that you couldn't really tell what we do by looking at the card. So, we decided to include a short list of services on the back side, along with an updated tagline. We've also decided not to use generic cards again and instead just omitted the mailing address. This way Amanda and I each only need to carry 1 set of cards. (Her's include both her email as well as the main support email)

Thoughts?

Looks good...couple of comments. Where do you provide service/support? No address listed but should put maybe cities or counties that you support.

Also I don't like the word cloud backup. What about Offsite Backup instead? I try not to use the word cloud as it is confusing to people.

The only thing that stands out to me is how close the Back logo is to the top line of text and how the columns are uneven. Just a little OCD kicking in but I hope it isn't just bothering me.. lol

Personally, the back of that card screams at me.

Yeah we had some issues with the dimensions on the back of the card. What you're seeing is the "full bleed" size... there's also a "trim size" and "safe margin" to take into account as well. I made sure everything fit into the "trim size" dimensions before uploading, but still had to move things together a bit to fit inside the "safe margin."

As for the text alignment... it should be right. I drew a horizontal line across the columns and aligned both columns to it before flatening the image.

The cloud backup comment has some merit to it... hopefully that doesn't create much confusion.

Black on grey/grey on black... *shrugs* well, I'm a tech, not a designer.

I didn't think about the "where do you provide service" thing. We didn't want to put the address as I work from home. Maybe the next batch I'll add something like "serving the entire Michiana area."

It's worth spending 80 bucks to have your business cards designed professionally. Sure, you gotta spend a few bucks... but you will have a much better impact on clients with a professional business card.

Every time I hand someone a business card, I get the same response... Wow, great looking business card. Our business cards look amazing on high gloss stock and its worth the extra money.

That's exactly what I was trying to convey, I should have thought of doing a quick mspaint example like that!

I used Photoshop for that. No MSPAINT in my life (I was making my own design for his card lol)
