NVMe Drivers for Intel SSD - Windows 10

Just built a system with Windows 10 and one of the newer Intel NVMe 600p M.2 drives.

When I upgraded my gaming system to the Samsung 950 Pro, I remember getting NVMe drivers right from Samsung. I can't seem to find the same setup from Intel - so now just stuck using the built in MS driver (which is hilariously dated as 2006).

Am I just a google noob and didn't find the obvious answer that should be right in front of my face?

Love it! I used to use driverpacks.net - but they seemed to stop really updating it.

Now if anyone can tell me that there is a new program like Autopatcher (remember that?) - which could help with update installs on fresh Windows 7 installs.

When doing the updates make sure to TURN OFF AUTOMATIC UPDATES from control panel/Windows Update Settings, otherwise it will sit there for days. That being said, once you have turned off auto updates and run WSUS... Turn auto updates back on and finish with the most recent updates. You will want 10-13GB of space for WSUS when you include the x64 versions of Windows 7, 8/8.1 and 10 - so start with a 16+GB thumb drive at a minimum.

Ok, so I ran Snappy - and no option for an NVMe driver.

Now, this whole thing makes me wonder. On my X99 platform - it is an ASUS motherboard, with an Intel chipset, and a Samsung 950 Pro.... In my head, the driver for anything on the motherboard should be from Intel as part of the chipset - or available through ASUS if it is a third party vendor.

But no - the NVMe driver I got and used was from Samsung.......

Is the Samsung NVMe driver compatible with other M.2 SSD drives as long as they are NVMe and not SATA?
