OneDrive was not syncing due to a couple of files that lacked permissions. I changed that; OneDrive said it's synced up. I sent the laptop home with the client. I get a call, and he's telling me his Documents folder is empty. I figured he was looking at it wrong, and he's right. His entire Documents folder is empty on both the local drive and OneDrive. I navigated to his OneDrive in the browser, and it's just not there. Any suggestions?

Also check if you can "restore" Onedrive to an earlier date before this occured.
- OneDrive Online>Settings>Restore OneDrive and select a date. The users files also hopefully are available in Online mode still and you could download the files via that option as well, Via "Files On Demand" disable this option and the files may download.

I had a similar case last week with a missing Desktop folder.
Only way around was Nuke n Pave.

I helped a client this week with a similar issue. He told me one story, then as we talked he added more to the story. Turns out he had deleted his photos from OneDrive trying to clean up old photos. He also deleted the many other system folders I found everything in the recycle bin on the computer and we cut it out to move to external.

For you, what permissions did you change?

I would look using Command Prompt at the following directories:

c:\users\username\Documents
c:\users\username\OneDrive\Documents

This sounds promising. I did look for those settings remotely and was unable to find them. However, the client is returning the laptop to the shop today, so I'll have to serach for that.
