I have a client with an Exchange Online Essentials license through GoDaddy.
They initially and accidently setup OneDrive with a non-work related Gmail account. They wanted this removed.
I removed it and wanted to setup OneDrive with their work address just to "backup" their desktop and document folders which are way under the free 5gb allowance.
However, I get an error that indicates their license doesn't have OneDrive.
I wanted to set up a personal OneDrive account but use their work email address, is this possible some how?

I just went through this problem with a new client (Had Online Essentials licenses with GoDaddy, but couldn't get OneDrive or Sharepoint).

It turns out that the client was originally on their IMAP email a few years ago, then last year, was converted to M365 and upgraded to the Online Essentials license. Well, there was some kind of corruption that happened during that conversion on GoDaddy's end. Microsoft only saw the licenses as Exchange Online Plan 1, which is equivalent to what GoDaddy calls "Email Plus".

To fix this, GoDaddy had to create a whole new client record on their end and then move the subscription to the new client - it was a mess. Once we finally found the person that actually discovered the problem, it still took a few days to get it working. Once they did that, Microsoft correctly saw the licenses as Business Standard or Business Basic, I can't remember which now. Anyway, OneDrive & Sharepoint worked at that point.

Now our very next task will be defederating from GoDaddy. Every month there is another reason to avoid them.
