I got an email for a discount on this software. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with it and if it works well to transfer an existing computer to a new computer.

It would be great not to have to reinstall, find product keys and activate software. But it sounds a little to good to be true.

Programs like Office will have to be reactivated if moved to a new computer as they are motherboard/system aware.
So you will have to consider that.

That just means more money, because people that don't keep tabs on the software they need make continuous and expensive mistakes.

Take a look at their supported software list. That answered it for me. I'd rather pay for Ninite/UCheck and know I have a clean install going. I can't TELL you how many systems I've had in my door that PCMover bodged... BAD.

I have a customer, a retired accountant who still does returns for a handful of clients. He brought me his new computer, which has 8 or so versions of Quickbooks installed, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Some Lexis/Nexus software his former employer is comping him, 4 printer installations, and about a terabyte of data.

It's a new Dell that the PC-Mover tech support spent over 13 hours on transferring his programs and data from his 8 year old Win7 computer (after the customer's failed attempt).......which had also been a migration with PC-Mover back in 2011 from a 7-year old Windows XP computer. I can't believe anything at all works on it. Once I found that out, I told him a fresh install was the only way it was going to be reliable. He declined and took this monstrosity back to have another tech support session with PCMover to see if they could fix it.
