Outlook PST Repair

Have gone through several weeks of Outlook 2007 reporting that the PST file is damaged, for no apparent reason. Have tried letting Outlook PST Repair itself with no success and also leaving Outlook open so that the program shuts down in a more controlled manner with Vista SP1 on closing down the PC for that session, again with no success. Running SCANPST has provided patchy success (50/50) and slows things down whilst running. What seems to have worked is setting Outlook to Send/Recieve on Exit (via 'Tools', 'Options', 'Mail Setup', 'Send/Receive', tick 'Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting').

Why not just create a new profile in Outlook, which will in turn create a new PST, and then import from the old PST file?

As you are here, it is assumed you are already a PC tech, or aiming at becoming one. So, what did relevant google searches reveal about fixing this error?

There are many tools out there. I forget the name, ill post it when I get to work tomorrow, but definitely worth purchasing one n having it on ur pc. I've done 3 this year so far and it made its money back easily. With all the emails being sent out nowadays something will go wrong. Also Microsoft has their own per repair tools as well as one that trims them down under 2 gigs.

Why not just create a new profile in Outlook, which will in turn create a new PST, and then import from the old PST file?

I have used Recovery Toolbox For Outlook ($50-100) with success in the past. Also allows for OST to PST conversion if necessary.

Yeah, it's the Stellar Phoenix program that should repair it. Tech license is $330, a one time use is $129 I think.
