Pics of your Work Areas!

A few more pics...

Well... we are operating out of the new shop for the most part. We still have lots of stuff in the old shop as well as a truckload of customer systems that need to come over lol. We still need to build the other tech areas out but the middle one is up so we can at least operate on a handfull of them at a time. The move has been a little nerve wracking but in the end it will be worth it. Here are some progress photos:

Looks awesome so far. The grid walls look very nice. Want to see the finished product in video.

We've moved from the home office into actual office space. It was just too much chaos with lots of people coming and going. Also, it was getting cramped. After searching for a while, I finally found something I liked, it is a basement office with outside stairs. We're still arranging things, and are gonna build the benches instead of using the plastic white tables we have up now. Overall, I'm very excited. Here are some pics: uploadfromtaptalk1392488735935.jpguploadfromtaptalk1392488806232.jpguploadfromtaptalk1392488846191.jpguploadfromtaptalk1392488888082.jpg

That's a good question. Got another one? Lol

I actually have no idea unfortunately. They reached out to us and now either just stop in or contact us to set up a time.

Progress! Finished staining the wood for the workbench, got it mounted today along with the monitors! Looks so much nicer! On the to-do list: Still need to clean up cords and wires and make two legs for the table to help support it. Also need to mount some shelves for tools and such.

Yeah, that's a lot of weight on that table. I would think a couple of computers on it would pull it right out of the wall. Good idea to have two legs on the front at least. It's pretty deep.

Just a thought.. Why not shelves on either front corner to double as support and leave the middle open for a place to put your legs when you sit there? That's one thing I noticed about our benches. There's no place to rest your legs because of all the shelving.

One thing you might find is that unless you're really tall those monitors might be too high up the wall. Looking upwards at them all the time will really hurt your neck after a while, making it hard to stay focused.

Another thing you might want to do is mount a pair of speakers on the wall too for when you're testing audio jacks, etc. It will keep them out of the way and readily accessible.

Good start though :)

Nice "Desktop" on the left side of the table in the first pic :p

I like the resourcefulness. What do you use it for? Tech machine for research/downloads while fixing client machines?

It's actually a security system DVR. Made from an old AMD laptop. :P At the time of the picture, I was wiping the HDD. I bought these infrared cameras from Amazon, and mounted them. Gonna post some more pics soon. The software for the cameras has some nice functions, it can record on movement detection as well as only certain times of the day. I have it watch the front door, when movement is detected, the video is retained for 30 days for me to review. Need to grab another camera for the backroom.

Sounds like you have Airlink IP cameras.

Looks like an unergonomic setup. My neck would get tired of having to look up at the screen. I hope your techs don't have to stand the whole time they bench the machine.
