Preserving "Date created" and/or "Date modified" Mac to PC.

Hello all,

My sister has a Mac and iPhone. Takes pics on iPhone and transfers to Mac, uses Photos app, etc. She wants to transfer photos to PC and organize her pics. However, when transferring all the dates - both for files and pictures themselves (Exif) - are reset to the transfer date/time.

How can this metadata be preserved so that she can sort by creation date, etc?

On PC the "Date created" and the time do read FROM the data within the pic. So if I take a pic with my android, and then transfer photo to my PC, the "Date created" shows as the date and time I snapped the actual photo. So basically this should be maintained after transfer from Mac to PC.

Agreed with @Computer Bloke - The metadata isn't going to be changed by a simple file copy. Something else is going on.

Ok, good questions. Turns out the exif was just fine.

On Windows side, the header option for "Date taken" had to be enabled and that worked.
