Raising forest/domain functional level on primary domain controller

Any concerns, precautions that you guys can think of before doing this? There are two physical DCs, this one is the main one which hosts all of the FSMO roles like global catalog etc. Is there anything you would warn or recommend prior to upgrading the forest/domain functional level?

Anytime you screw with dc settings, run, at the very least, a system state backup first.

It is a simple process....typically it has very low risks. But it's still wise, as A_G mentioned, to have the correct type of backup of those servers.
