Thinking of going with one of these, been a QB POS user for 13 years. Searched and pulled up a thread from 5 years ago on here, but it seemed bias from the makers of each product. Can a true user post their thoughts on either? Would highly appreciate it and could help others as well in the same scenario.

Been with RepairShopr for 7 years and leaving this month - we're a break / fix shop and they are moving their product towards MSP with seemingly monthly updates that break our Clerk's routines. The most recent and deal breaker was complicating how invoices are generated and paid. Now they're abandoning AuthorizeNet so just another reason on a growing list for why this platform isn't for us. If you're running MSP it might be a good fit for you.

RepairDesk we tried for just two months over a year ago. It couldn't calculate the correct change to return to the customer. We imported MS and Injured Gadget feeds and realized it imported a lot of stuff they no longer carry. To correct the feeds required Support intervention. I'm sure it's better today than it was over a year ago but it was very much in beta form in a constant flux of improvements and bug fixes.

We're moving back to PCRT because it now does pretty much all we need. The deal breaker 7 years ago with PCRT was no ability to SMS customers. Now it does SMS, developed nicely these last 7 years and for break / fix shops it's much more intuitive than either RS or RD. I'm fulent in php / mysql so adding features I like and changing code for stuff I don't isn't an issue for us. None of the PCRT code is locked down so you can easily adapt it as you wish.

Just my 2 cents.

Thats worth much more than 2 cents to me, thanks for that info. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your issues with both.

We've been using RepairShopr for 6 years now with no issues. I find it easy to work with and the few times we had questions or needed help, support got back to us pretty quickly. Not sure what @inbargains means with the way invoices are being generated and paid becoming difficult now. Can you let me know? So far I haven't seen a difference, just wondering if it's something I have to keep an eye out for.
That’s interesting about RepairShopr considering they have an MSP product already, SyncroMSP.
We are actually looking into this and may do the migration of our repairshopr account into the SyncroMSP because we are adding in more managed services. But for the most part as break/fix and for what we have been doing, repairshopr has met all of our needs.

Yea we used RepairShopr at my store for about 5 years as well. Worked great.
After I closed the store and now just work as a one man msp from home it made sense to switch to Syncro.

One of many posts about invoiced status disappearing

This topic might be of interest. We can ask @calldrdave if he is still using RS and his current thoughts.

I concurred with Beau back in January.
ok, now I see what you are talking about. Just checked it on one of my tickets when I made an invoice, it continues to stay at whatever status was already selected. Not sure why they got rid of the invoiced status, I could have sworn previously that's what it would go to, right? Didn't pick up on it because we are so used to just changing the status manually as we go along.

I used the free version of Repairshopr for a while several years ago. No real complaints about its functionality that I recall. At the time, the cost was a significant factor as I had a hard time justifying the ongoing higher cost for it vs. the lower cost for PCRT. I went with PCRT and it has served me well since then.

Same for me as well.
At the time I still had a shop with inventory and wanted the POS feature which was not part of the free.
Logged back in today. Used it between 2013 and 2016
