Replace the CCFL on dell E6400 laptop

What symptoms are you having with the Dell Latitude E6400? The backlight is inside the LCD - I would just replace the screen if the backlight is bad.

Agreed, these buggers are so damned fragile too... much easier to replace LCD than to disassemble old LCD to get at the tube...

I agree with you it's much easier to replace the lcd then get to the tube. LCDs are so cheap these days that replacing the backlight is not worth it.

Btw, you are doing a great job advertising your site. I see your website everywhere lately!

might as well replace the entire screen, done it on a desktop monitor but I found that the laptop ones are just next to impossible to deal with.

If you really want to give it a shot, try it on a cracked screen, take the tube out and put it right back. See how well it goes.

I replaced many backlights on different laptops, Dells even, but this one I can not seem to find it, I disassembled the LCD and it is not there, weird.

Worst case... follow the cabling from the Inverter? Has to lead where you want...

The E6400 comes with a LED screen so there is no CCFL tube.

Yes I was reading it was an LED, so what is the source of the light in the back? the inverter is connected to the LED on the right side with small 12 pin ribbon
