I thought I would throw this idea out to the TN gang.

Since Digital River 'dried up' and is seems extremely impossible to get ISOs for M$ Windows operating system, we were just discussing what if we all submitted the ISOs that we have in our possession for TN use.

I don't think M$ could make it any more difficult for us which is exactly what they want.

It would be up to Bryce if he would want to dedicate some space for this but was just thinking.

Ideas please?

It would have to be hidden like TEO private and password protected. The extra storage and bandwidth would nave to be paid for somehow.

And word would still get out and Microsoft would kick Bryce's door in and have him arrested. I seriously doubt he will take that risk.

Your right, The MS gestapo force will find out sooner or later. Surprises me that MDL forums have not been shutdown long time ago. They still have a member who has "everything MSDN has to offer" thread and is hosting it.

There's always TOR. But it would be a huge hassle anyways I'm sure a number of us have a lot of stuff so the usual "does anyone have abc" would work.

I guess, but really MS has made it really easy for Windows 7 and 8.

Windows 7: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
Windows 8: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Nothing hard about those.

As detailed in prior TN post regarding digital river's take-down: https://www.technibble.com/forums/t...win-7-iso-being-taken-down.61981/#post-480558

Except that most users have an OEM version of Windows and that will not provide ISOs for ANY oem version.

This won't help on a remote job, which is when I need to download an os iso. I have all the iso's in the shop. Looks like I will need to mail a dvd out as part of a os reload on remotes.
