Hey Guys,

Trying to put together a pro-forma P&L statement for a repair shop I am planning to open in a shopping center. Can I get some input on typical sales trends for different months of the year? assuming $40,000 in gross sales it the peak #

(I'm not looking for specific numbers on how much gross sales I will generate, just the up and down trend in sales. I'm using $40k as peak just as an example of a retail storefront's peak sales number.)

Jan - $20k
Feb - $25k
Mar - $25k
Apr - $30k
May - $35k
Jun - $30k
Jul - $20k
Aug - $20k
Sep - $40k
Oct - $38k
Nov - $25k
Dec - $20k

Are you serious? You expect us to give you sales trends without knowing your location or anything else for that matter. Those P&L #'s are completely impossible to achieve anyway, you'll never do 40k a month in a repair shop. You'd have to do 15+ computers per day to hit that and gouge like crazy. The local Microcenter here doesn't even do that much (they do 100/week approx.

Try 8-12k/month gross and you're getting warmer.

I understand what you're asking, but I wasn't sure if you meant retail+service, just retail or just service. I can generalize, but my shop's very much NOT the norm because of our student customer base.

You can't trend this unless you are using data from your area only. This business varies way too much from town to town and state to state. Besides with the economy changing like it is your data wouldn't be very accurate.

LOL! wow! if this biz was that lucrative I doubt you'd see anybody on this board, we'd all be sipping something under a palm tree someplace!:p
