Samsung adds 2TB SSDs to its 850 Evo and 850 Pro families

Sweet, but at those prices, irrelevant to most consumers, who would find $800/$1,000 USD for the Evo/Pro impossible to justify. I have an 850 Pro 128GB and it is indeed sweet; it serves me well as an OS drive, given all the HDDs used for storage. You'd think laptops designed for two drives would be enjoying a resurgence, now that SSDs are mainstream but still expensive for bulk data storage.

Agreed, I don't see the price point being purchased by any of my clients, but at least the size is now available and the price will start to decline. I have personally installed over a dozen of the 128 Pros with awesome results and zero failures.

I really thought the hybrid drives would do well in laptops. Or even just the dual drives in one spot. I usually just keep big media files on traditional HDDs now, and I really don't care how fast the drive is for that sort of thing.

We just started stocking ssds to offer in normal repairs, for Samsung's: 120gb $55, 250gb $99, 500gb $169. Those are just standard amazon prime prices. If a client does not have lots of data, we are just going to offer 120gb ssd as standard for repairs.
