Can someone just have a read of this report from GSmartControl and let me know what you think please?

Got a Dell Inspiron N5030 in because it's running really, really slowly. A quick look at a CrystalDisk report showed a "Caution" on Reallocated Sector Count so I booted into Parted Magic and ran GSmartControl, only for the Extended Test to complete with no errors.

I just want to be doubly sure on this because the hard drive was replaced under warranty by Dell about six months ago and now the machine is out of warranty. Being only six months old, the drive should be ok, but who knows?

Thanks

SMART data shows 89 re-allocated sectors. I would not trust this drive, even with only 1121 hours on it.

Some advice: Check the sector count first, if the sector count is too high (for us 10-20) then do not even bother with a SMART test. At this point, you can determine that the hard drive has failed. The problem with running a SMART test after determining that the sector count is too high, is that you are putting unnecessary stress on the hard drive and you could potentially loose the customers data.

Good advice PCX, thanks.
