@YeOldeStonecat True, but that's also true of everything. All things that access the Internet need aggressively patched.
But I haven't messed with that since Windows 10. I set the update parameters via GPO, or emulate the same via registry and let the thing run. If MS has an emergency patch, they all get it automatically. A quick query to the RMM tells me if it stuck or not.
But yeah, this stuff is why I don't have rose tinted classes for Windows XP or Windows 7. I remember the nightmares of keeping Windows Update online... I remember having to run around like crazy manually patching stuff only for the platforms to fail anyway. No Datto available or anything like it...
Today we just set the maintenance mechanism, make sure it runs, and get a decent backup. Stuff breaks? Take the VPS back in time a few hours and on with our day.
We're so blasted spoiled...
