What is your preferred cloud file backup for SoHo users? I am break-fix and support Windows computers, primarily workstations that are standalone or peer to peer. I currently have some with Carbonite & Acronis as well as a few others.

I like the idea of something that can handle cloud and local backups in one solution so that they can have a local USB backup along with the cloud backup. I also like something that will email either the client or me to failed backups etc. One client that has Carbonite on 4 different machines has been flakey lately. Within the last month, they have been notified two different times that a machine (different each time) was not backing up. I had to uninstall & reinstall the software to fix the issue.

I am not interested in hosting it myself. I am open to a solution I was able to make a little something on reselling it as long as they don't have minimums.

My votes is for iDrive. Been using it at this point for several years with different customers, can't complain. If it was me Carbonite would be last on the list to use. Been quite sometime but had a customer who had backed up some 60gb to the cloud, all pictures. After replacing her HD the restore process kept on dying part the way through. Don't know what happened in the end.

Never heard of it.
They’re channel only so no pricing on their website.
just contact them and tell them I sent you. :)
Been around for a while now.
I’ve been using them for almost two years and it’s excellent.
Support is great as well.
They’re basically a managed Comet Backup service with unlimited storage at really fair pricing.
All fully brandable with your company name and logo so to your clients it looks like it’s your own software.

Dropped Carbonite for the same reason.

I'm sure your location plays a part on the "best choice". We use/recommend Backblaze almost exclusively for residential (and even some tiny SOHOs). Hard to argue with the price, I always show them how to make sure it's working, and how to get stuff back - they usually just call me anyway and I get to charge for retrieving their stuff. Plus, they do stuff that makes me like them as a company - publishing hard drive stats (less valuable than it used to be), and making the design of their storage pods public domain.

I make a whopping $5 per year for each install because I can't be bothered to setup the reseller thing, just not worth the effort. This commission supports pizza lunches for the office once in a while. Backblaze only let one of my clients down one time, and that was very much self-inflicted. The client got a ransomware infection and didn't report it until the 30 day retention period had elapsed, so Backblaze only had encrypted data. This was several years ago.

What pricing. Really don't want to call and be put through a sales pitch for basic curiosity
Not sure sorry as I know their pricing plan has changed but I’m grandfathered in on my original plan.
Mike won’t do the whole sales pitch thing. :)
You can just email them too, no need to speak on the phone.

I'm a little late to the party here, but for my residential customers I recommend BackBlaze. I personally use iDrive as I have a network drive which BackBlaze does not support.
