I did a quick search for a Mac Repair guide and couldn’t find anything. I thought this guide might be a good start for techs that want to do Mac repair.

The Ultimate Mac Repair Quick Reference Guide
More and more companies are buying Macs. And even if you aren’t a fan of the platform, knowing how to support them can give you an edge in the marketplace. My IT consulting business landed several clients because of our ability to support Macs. Sometimes the clients had almost all PCs and only a few Macs but because we knew both platforms, they would choose us over our competitors. This is why adding Mac support to your portfolio can be a huge plus when trying to secure more clients or a new job. So if you are interested in supporting Macs but are afraid to take the plunge, I have put together this quick reference guide just for you.

Thanks for the guide. I happened to get my hands on a Macbook Pro that had DVD drive issues. Was able to fix issue and now use it to 'play' with to get some Mac experience.

Great find! We do not currently support Macs, but it's something we're looking at getting into. This guide will be a great help!

Well I don't think it can be the ultimate guide if it doesn't show you how to jump power pads. But looks neat nonetheless

I thought I would bump this to the top. It's not the perfect guide, but it will at least answer some of the basic questions.

There seems to be more questions about working on Macs from Techs who know their way around Windows but have little experience with Macs. And some are trying to do it with out any tools or reference material. There are some good people here who try to help, but it must be frustrating for everyone without a basic understanding of how thngs work.

Keep asking questions, because even after 6 years of working on Macs, I learn things all the time here.

Thank You!

I am trying to get into doing fixes for MAC. Thank you for this reference guide. This will really help in getting started!

nice piece of info. I have been see more and more mac for i have been practicing more with them. this will be helpful.

Nice Post, this will help me out a bunch!

Personally I don't do mac repair at our store / shop, but we do have at least one person who will tackle the software side and I'm quite sure that that same person could also do repairs with the right info. So I'm sending those links to my business email addy and will pass along the info.

Thanks for posting.
