I am trying to create a portable app using Thinapp (formerly Thinstall). I have gone through the complete process and now have a question. When i go to the package, there are a whole bunch of folders involved and then there is a bin folder. What do i need to run the program? Do i only need the exe file from the bin folder or do i need the entire directory to run the program?

Theres nothing to creating the app so I can't imagine i did it wrong. I'm trying to make the Cisco VPN Client portable and when i click on the final exe it gives me, it eventually errors out on both Vista and XP. Maybe it can't be made portable?

Some programs can't be made portable. For whatever reason, either they require too many files or place too many entries into the registry. Microsoft Office is a good example. I have made it somewhat portable but its buggy at best.

The VPN client installs a virtual network adapter which i think could be the root of my problem. Ah..oh well...better luck next time. Thanks for the help!
