At first blush I thought this was legit. Something made me pause and read it more carefully. Finally, I logged into my Paypal account from a different browser and saw that things were still normal there.

What URL is linked in the Review Document button?

Wonder if docusign.net is owned by the same company as the .com
edit: looks like it is

Anything that does not address me, by name, of this ilk immediately raises my, "This is fake," flag.

"Dear Customer," indeed. If I am anyone's customer, then their e-mail generator should be addressing me by name.

Also, why in heaven's name would Docusign be contacting me about unusual activity on PayPal? I decided to do a Perplexity.ai query to see if Docusign and PayPal are even under the same parent company, and they are not. The final line in the answer it gave, "Additionally, PayPal does not use Docusign for sending official notifications, which suggests they operate separately (4) (5)."

I receive 'Someone has used your PayPal account' emails almost every week. It’s easy to spot them as fakes because I don’t have - and never will have - a PayPal account. So, it’s a no-brainer for me.

My clients, on the other hand, still fall for these scams, despite years of reminders not to believe everything they see.
