I'm quoting the network part of a security camera setup for an existing client. This is a 5-building campus of condos. The office where internet service is located is across a parking lot from the main residential buildings, 50' to the closest corner, and 120' to the far corner of the first building. They want security cameras placed on the 4 corners of the first residential building which will cover the parking lot, courtyard area and trash dumpster area. Our normal camera guy will be handing the camera install, we just need to get internet to the building. There is unobstructed line-of-site, so I'm guessing we want the UBB Building Bridge units for this, but as I haven't done this for a commercial customer yet, I'm posting here in case Ubiquiti has some lesser-known equipment that is a better fit.

I've put in a few nanobeam point-to-point setups for consumer clients, but those units don't seem really up to a commercial setup.

Here's a pic, just for fun - the red lines are the proposed location of the bridge:

What do you think?

For your PTmP building link, you may want to consider one of their 60GHz Gigabeam/Wave/Airfiber products. With up to 10Gbps on those links, it's likely you'll never saturate it before your other on-site equipment.

I have had no problem with the Nanobeams in a commercial setting. It was limit bandwidth being used so on AP and a Unifi Dome camera on one end.

UBB is great, I've seen using them a lot. A few months ago there was a huge shortage of them, I think I bought the last few anyone could find in the US.

Hopefully they're back in stock if you need them.

airMax radios...Nanos...they're usually used in commercial, they're also great/reliable. Just...a different admin interface, and they take a bit of your time to configure. SO....factor in your time to pre-configure them...and then factor in your additional time to manage them over the years....now the higher price of the UBB is...a savings! UBB come as a pair in each box, pre configured. Just plug them into the network with your other Unifi devices..and adopt...update...name..boom....done!

So...yeah the UBB costs more than similar airMax radios...but...SO much quicker to setup/deploy, and...manage down the line. So well worth it. They are only PtP, not PtMP. That's one drawback.

Put a 16 or 24 port switch on the second building that the UBB's connect to the main building....and build out the second buildings network from there.
