I had a service call today where the client needed parental controls to prevent children in the house from getting on adult sites. All I had to do was change the DNS servers to Open DNS FamilySafe Nameservers. After I was back at the office she called and asked if there were any application to log the activites on the childrens accounts. As she exsplained it to me she wanted to be able to know what websites they were visiting, what apps they were using, what times they were on, and get email alerts if certian websites were visited (even though she did not want them blocked).

Does anyone know of any such logging software for Vista to monitor an account's activity and send alerts when certian conditions are met? The closest I could find was Norton Family and Qustido. (both of which she has tried and not been happy with)

not sure if it has everything you are looking for but I use k9webprotect for clients that want parental controls. very easy to set up and not a resource hog like say net nanny.

Looks like Norton Family Free is the way to go for this customer.

Since most adult sites are allready blocked by OpenDNS Family Nameserver it can be setup to alert each time they visit a site in specific catagories based on age, block custom sites, log social media usage and searches, and even sends alerts when the children use an incogentio window or give a false age.

(Just wanted to give an update, Thanks for all the recomendations. I can tell I am going to love this forum)
