What do you use for cleaning laptop & LCD screens?

For screens I use screen wipes or Isopropohol alcohol diluted with water. For the cases I use anti bacterial wipes and Mr Sheen wipes (shines umpteen things clean). I then have two lint free cloths, 1 for cases and 1 for the screens. I also use the compressor or vac to remove the bulky crap first.

nice'n clean Electronic Cleaning Wipes seem to work for me. They are anti-static, alcohol free and fairly cheap.

Very timely, actually I'm planning to get one for my LCD monitor and I'm thinking of buying the vivitar cause it's alcohol and ammonia free plus it is also works on other lcd screens including led and plasma. Any feedback about the vivitar lcd screen cleaning kit?

I recommend 1 part distilled water to 1 part white vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle and spray on your cleaning cloth (never on the screen itself). The vinegar smell goes away quickly. Follow up with a quick buff with a dry cloth (old-fashioned cloth diapers cut into smaller squares are ideal).

Distilled water is important because it will not leave spots when it dries or leaves minerals behind on the screen.

An earlier poster wisely mentioned doing a dust-blow and dry-rag wipedown before using any cleaning solution. Get as much crud off as possible, because anything wet will turn the cruft into muddy mess.

I used a slightly wet rag with dish soap on it to wipe down the entire computer. Then, I blow on the screen to fog it up and wipe it with clean boxers
(yes, the kind a man wears lol). This gets rid of any water marks.

I use boxers because I like them over microfiber cloths and they're very soft.
I've been doing it this way for 3.5 years on my laptop and the screen works and looks the same it did when I bought it.

For dust removal I blow out the dust with my breathe and/or use an antistatic brush. I don't use compressed air because it'd too expensive.
Someday I'm gonna get an air compressor to do it.

i use Foamclene and its amazing, funniley enough it says on it not to use it on a screen and its always been fine

however i was worrying so i bought a few cans of this and it seeped under the screen and stained it!....stay away from the evil red cans!

I got this lcd liquid cleanser from ebay I think that it is great. It removes all those dirt and traces of water with just a single wipe. They say that it is made of a special solution that even removes fingerprint traces. It comes with a micro fiber cloth which is also nice.

Well I use standard baby wipes and a normal polishing cloth!

Comes up clean and shiny and never had a problem screen keyboards or other! Very cheap and cheerful!

Oh and a standard can of air!

Since I have granddaddy privileges so I always have a pack of baby handiwipes in my car, van, whatever I am in, I found by accident that they work very good for cleaning TV's, Laptop and LCD screens. I have used all sorts but usually I get the hypoallergenic which might be softer chemical makeup.

In the UK, there is a company called BRASSO , whose product was/is used to clean brass, jewellery and other metallics. VERY old company.

They brought out a new product a few months ago specifically designed for LCD screens, phone screens, nintendo screens etc.

It's called BRASSO GADGET CARE

Good stuff and a nice smell

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk .... Whilst proclaiming the machine fixed, grabbing the cash and running like hell.

I use a product called Brillianize. This solution leaves an anti-static, fingerprint resistant finish.Brillianize contains no alcohol or ammonia so it won't damage soft plastic.

One 128 oz. (Gallon) Jug cost $29.95

Sounded Interesting and just went on search in google I guess it must a good product as you said. Thanks for sharing Jimmy.Have a great Day.

Many things!
take a soft cloth, like a glasses cleaner, or a tissue. Then, breath on your screen until it's like a window when you breath on it, and just wipe it with the
cleaner (:

I don't clean laptops, but if I did, some of the ones I have seen could really use a trip through the dishwasher.

That said, I used to wipe them down with a slightly damp microfiber.

The screens were cleaned with the same things I use to clean eye glasses.

The keyboard, I use compressed air. If someone made it all nasty by using hand lotion... Have to replace the keyboard.

Re:

Forgive me me if this has been discussed before. I did not find find any other threads discussing it with Search function or Google either.

I use eyeglass lens cleaner and an eyeglass microfiber cloth. Sam's Club sells a double pack of 2 large bottles at a cheap price. I have also bought it in an 8oz bottle at Walmart for about $4.

I have not been in business very long, but I use it on every laptop that I service. In fact I use it to clean the whole laptop, screen and all and have never had any problems with it. No one told me about using it, but being a wearer of glasses, I knew that they have extremely delicate coatings on them and that the cleaner did not have any harsh chemicals. I have probably cleaned at least 100 laptops with it so far. Zero complaints.

What do you use?

I was provided with a cleaning it along with my Samsung laptop and it contains a spray bottle, a fiber cloth and a brush to clean the dust in between the keys and I am very much satisfied with it.
