What do you use for cleaning laptop & LCD screens?

Lyreco recommended we try this foam solution called 'Screen Magic' which is essentially an Aerosol foam spray that claims to clean and protect screens. I was initially skeptical because of the steep price, but they gave us one for free to try and I gotta say I love this stuff. I use this and two microfiber cloths, one for the gross stuff and a fine cloth for the remainder.

Super expensive, but by far the best over the counter LCD screen cleaning product I have ever used. My only complaint is that the foam sometimes gets stuck inbetween the bezel and the LCD panel if you aren't careful, but it seems to break itself down quickly and you cant even notice after a minute or two. I would be intereseted to see what others think of this product in any case!

How much better do any of these products work than vinegar and water and a microfiber cloth?
Considering the state of most people's laptops, any cleaning is a vast improvement.
I also use it on keyboards with those triangle makeup sponges I steal from my wife. Fits nicely in between the keys.

I always clean the keyboard and screen while doing a scan or downloading updates. Clients appreciate it, like the mechanic washing your car when it's in for service.

I use "Monster" LCD screen cleaner. I spray a little directly on the screen and wipe immedately with the microfiber cloth that it comes with.

Works great on the screen and tough smudges that accumulate on glossy laptops.

Just started part time, so not familiar with any brands or stuff. I have personally been using eyeglasses cleaner for my laptop and might do this for my customers as well.

Hello,

After looking at and starting a thread on this, I come up with the following:

Really dirty laptops, desktops, screens, etc:

50/50 distilled white vinegar and distilled water
Very cheap to make 1 gal., cleans super well.
Follow up with snall amount of Brillianize for that "new: look.



Not so dirty stuff:
Brillianize

Both of these suggestions were recommended by fellow subscribers and I've since replaced my 50/50 alcohol/water routine.


50/50 Distilled Vinegar/Water, cleans better than anything I've tried.

Brillianize.....the "Armor All" look for computer stuff...fantastic stuff!

Been using that for 10+ years, does a perfect job to me and never saw any damage. (even in long term).

Mr Sheen Multi Purpose is all you need for screens and bodies (Laptop bodies that is.)
I have Lens Wipes from Boots and it says not to use on lcd screens.

Guess I am the only one that has never had an issue with lightly dampened Kleenex, followed by a dry clean 100% cotton T-Shirt for a spot free shine?

I use a product called Brillianize.

I also used Brillianize (1 gallon) and microfiber cloth for everything. I have been using it for 4 yrs and not even close to using 1/2. It makes laptop look like brand new. It also does wonders to the mouse removing the greasy part.

I spray it on the cloth and not directly on the equipment. Sometimes I can do 2 laptop with one spray.

I have one client who wants me to do tune up every quarter just to have a nice looking laptop.

I dont clean them. Same for keybaords - if its icky I wear gloves. The outside gets returned in same condition. Obviously a screen replacement is cleaned.

But I will clean every laptop I get. If it is full-on nasty I am not going to spend an hour deep-cleaning it with q-tips. But I will spend a minute cleaning the screen with rubbing alcohol (25%, 75% water) and give the top case/keyboard+pointer a wipe. Gets most of the crap off pretty quickly.

Thats okay with me and I apreciate why you do that. I was saying that its just what I do. Or don't
