What do you use to clean monitors and laptop screens

I always use Monster screen cleaner. You can find it in the TV section of most electonics stores. It comes with a microfibre cloth and its only like 20 bucks for a big bottle. Its made for LCD TVs but works great on laptops and the cloth is a must.

Gasoline & Oily rags, of course!

Nah, just kidding.......

As an example the other day - on a Dell Latitude D530 (matte screen), I powered off the laptop, opened the screen all the way (so it would lay back on the workbench) then used window cleaner to it - sprayed just a little on the screen surface. Then using a soft cloth, cleaned the surface really good followed up by a good dry cleaning / polishing of the screen.

On shiny screen surfaces I'll generally use the same cleaner or perhaps some other "branded" glass and surface cleaner. BUT, I don't over-saturate the surface of the screen with anything.

Many people will tell you many different ways to clean a screen. Of course it all depends on whether that screen is made of glass or is LCD. Experiment on an old screen with different cleaners until you are comfortable and then you can pass that info onto your clients if you so desire. ;)

Alot of people dont know this but tap water and window cleaner even more can eat away at LCD screens. Windex is a perfect example, if you use this product to clean your screen alot eventually it wont be shiny and might actuall eat the finish right off the screen.

PS gas it best cleaner LOL JK

i use mr. brasho that is liquid & put it in a spray. when i need to clean i just spray the liquid in to monitor & wash it with tissue paper.

IDK if this has been posted before but I've found coffee filters to work well as they are lint free and won't leave streaks. If anyone is worried that they are going to scratch, don't, they are fine as soon as they get a little bit wet. They are also super cheap!

I'm using Pledge Electronics cleaning spray. It's anti-static formula removes dust, dirt. Fingerprints and smudges leaving all screen's streak-free shine and no residue.

I recommend this cleaner.

I recently switch to brillianize base on this thread. It works really good. I purchase a gallon and put it on 1 fl oz container. I've clean 10 laptops and only used 1/2 of the 1 fl oz. My guess, the 1 gallon will last me for 1 - 2 years.

I have one client who said the problem with touch pad came back after I did a tune up. She remember it being sensitive when she first bought it. I didn't update the driver. The only different I did was cleaned the touchpad with brillianize.

Trying to follow you here. Are you saying it damaged the touch pad or improved it?

We sell our own.

We are in the process of bottling and selling the stuff we make. Its basically alcohol, vinegar and water in precise amounts. The type is important, but its about the amounts in the mixture really. Too much alcohol it will cloud, too much vinegar it will stink etc.
Most of it is in the microfiber cloth that is used. Honestly a good microfiber cloth dampened with a bit of water and some elbow grease will make a screen like new.
Been using our method for years and we've never, ever had an issue.
