This one is for you TheUnknownOne. The other day he asked me if his new PC (Pentium 4 Desktop) was running too hot.

Me: "what temperature is it running at?"
Him: "100 C"
Me:

Yeah, a highpowered after-market fan would be very helpful since I have always found that the stock ones are never enough. Also keep in mind there may be other factors at play here, expecially case airflow.

Even if you do put a high powered aftermarket fan on the system, if there is nowhere for the hot air to go it will hang around the CPU and heat the system up even more. On most modern computers you at least need an exhaust fan out the back of the case (not including the power supply exhaust fan). One of our writers, Boris, has written up a really good article on computer case airflow which you can find here: http://www.technibble.com/case-cooling-the-physics-of-good-airflow/
