Where do you recommend purchasing a battery for this system?

iFixit has this one for 99.95

MacSales has this one for 99.00

Then there's ones on eBay for <$60 that are labeled as OEM and genuine. I asked the New York, US-based seller a question about the item and they wrote back with terrible grammar and very much so did not speak English as their first language.

I need to make sure I am getting a quality battery and not cheap junk. I am, of course, worried about the stuff on eBay.

What do you recommend?

Yeah, the ebay ones are not genuine. But it will look like they will comes with Apple serial numbers and everything. They're all (ifixit, ebay, macsales) probably the same battery, ifixit and macsales with just warranty it.

The OEM batteries have enough issues (expanding), I can only image third party ones are worse. If it was for my personal computer, I would just get the ebay one. For a client

That will be an OEM one

I'd only get non-OEM batteries from companies like MacSales and iFixit. At least you have someone to go back to if there are problems. I agree with @trevm999, that eBay stuff, like batteries, are never new OEM parts.

I went with a 3rd party battery from MacSales as paying $50 more for OEM is too much. I am confident that it will work just fine as MacSales appears to have a very good reputation and the battery comes with a 1 year warranty.
