Whoa - is it my eyes or did something change in the last hour??????

I've just realized that I was wrong. There's now a range of reactions hidden under the "Like" button including "Sad" and "Angry", so the Reaction Score really is a Controversiality Index.

I don't like this at all.

Technibble is basically a friendly place with occasional squabbles that generally die down by themselves (or with a gentle nudge from @Kraken) and the single "Like" button helps to encourage the "if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all" tone. Adding in an "Angry" button seems likely to polarize debate and make this a much less supportive community.

@BryceW - Please consider going back to the old system of "Like or nothing". This could kill Technibble as we know it.
I didn't see that. Perhaps it can be modified without too much trouble?

@Computer Bloke

There are pluses and minuses to everything. I've been in online forums since before any of this crap with like/dislike/whatever reaction buttons ever existed. In most tech geek forums, at least, there was seldom, if ever, the stream of "me too" and "I agree" posts and I very much doubt that we'd see such suddenly appear here were there to be no like button.

By the way, I may be a three-digiter here, but I suggest you look around for "britechguy" on a number of tech forums. I'm a 5-digiter on at least one other.

It's actually insulting to imply that my opinion arises from inexperience and nothing could be further from actuality.

And others refuse to take ownership of their own words when those don't come off the way they think they should have. It's a poor writer who blames all issues on his or her readers.

I'll take humorless, thanks.

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say. 🧐 Sound familiar???

Bryce - keep up the great work. You know the ole' expression - everyone has a opinion just as they also have an a$$hole. This is YOUR site, you created it and maintain it admirably. You provide access to it for us free. I know I speak for MANY on here that we are very appreciative of your hard work and dedication. As some are so quick to tell the 'unqualified' applicants - "You can also go to Tomshardware, Bleeping Computer etc." if you don't like it here. I for one am grateful to have a professional sounding board for us! Thanks again!

It seems pretty slick on mobile so far. I would appreciate a 'confused' reaction though, that's probably the only thing other than Like that I would use.

I'm a fan of the new look. Reactions don't bother me since I have learned not to post things just for attention anymore. My main concern would be if the reactions were used to rank the posts and show them in that order. As long as everything stays in chronological order and there is no fancy algorithm deciding things, I'm fine.

And I'm glad it's an option, because the last place I need multi-factor authentication is on forums. I use it sparingly, where strong security actually matters, like online banking, but not much elsewhere.

My world would not come to an end were my Technibble account to be accessed by some third party, and since there's virtually no gain of any kind to be had, why would they want to?
