Hello Does anyone have a site address to download drivers for a Bosch DCU 130 Garage Diagnostics Unit It also says powered by ESI(Tronic).

I cannot seem to find a support site to download drivers from

Thanks

Jason

Is it like the VAG-COM that plugs into my VW GTIs it requires a 32-bit machine? Or does it run it's own 32-bit Win7? I can't tell.

Is this just for the tablet itself? I'd be looking at pci/ven route as well. But remember having drivers does not mean you have the software that interprets sensor readings.

It’s running a custom 32bit Windows 7 with bespoke software for the car diagnostics. Tried snappy driver today and even that did not have a driver for the WiFi network card. Have decided to wait until the tech guy at the garage comes back from holiday and then we will have to go to Bosch France or the reseller of this product to gain access to their tech support, as I cannot find anything via 3rd party, so may be a custom driver for this particular product. I have never seen one of these before and doubt I will again, so will just have to wait till we have access to the official support route. Thanks for your input everyone.

You have not mentioned what the PCI ID for the device is. It can't imagine it's wifi card not being a common off the shelf part from Intel, Broadcom, Ralink, Qualcomm, etc.

Yeah, beat me too it. Almost guaranteed this is outsourced to someone like Foxconn and it's pretty certain a company like Bosch is not going to allow some generic, cheap wifi chipset. I'd bet that the pci/ven maps out to one of the big ones.

Well, it's apparently standard hardware – Atheros AR9160 – but it could well require a custom driver to work with the rest of the hardware and software.

Never underestimate the proprietary nature of special-purpose PCs. Heck, even an Acer laptop will break its Wi-Fi switch if you don't use the Acer driver.

@mlcomputers I think you may be on a hiding to nothing without official Bosch recovery media, if it even exists outside a Bosch service centre, which is quite possibly the intention.

Thanks for the info I am going to try the driver attached by Mike tomorrow and see.

Try this:

Hello Mike, Well good news the driver install went ok this morning however it took 3 attempts and seemed to take ages to complete. Connected to the garage Wifi network and then shutdown and restarted computer multiple times to make sure the driver loaded and connected ok.

Not sure why Snappy Driver was not able to install the driver for this unit, however many thanks for taking the time to upload the driver

Have left a folder with the driver on the desktop just in case they have the problem again!!

Thanks

Jason
