You have to be able to pay for the booze.....
+ 1 This ^^^Yes all most certainly a third-party encryption product would interfere with a base upgrade.
Have you ever noticed that "job security" is something you generally only have for jobs you don't want? Can you imagine having to update these systems every single month??? Remove the encryption, do the updates, install the encryption...over and over again, forever. And you had better hope that Microsoft never tries to force the update to install anyway, because that's apparently how they roll now. I just finished cleaning up nearly 7GB from the cheap little HP with a 32GB drive that Windows just WILL NOT quit filling up! The MOMENT I free up 1 GB it has already downloaded 2GB!Well! You guys were correct. 'Tis going to be interesting because this customer's company requires it and it's going to bork almost every future update...will suggest Bitlocker.
Thanks for the help.
Those machines were designed to fail and be thrown away didn't you already know that?I just finished cleaning up nearly 7GB from the cheap little HP with a 32GB drive that Windows just WILL NOT quit filling up! The MOMENT I free up 1 GB it has already downloaded 2GB!
What kind of person buys a cheap piece of crap like that? The kind that doesn't want to spend money EVER. Fixing it is cheaper than replacing it. Not in the long run, but you can't explain that to some customers. Those machines were designed to fail and be thrown away didn't you already know that?
The only way to work those is to nuke them twice a year or properly set up(and tape/glue over it so no one removes it) an SD card to accomidate the upgrades.
LOL, my last boss was a real winner. I started out on straight commission, though I was expected to be there Monday-Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-2 (not legal). And when he actually started paying me a wage for requiring me to be there, as is the law, he actually used the words "beck and call" to describe my duties. This is why I don't ever want to have a 'boss' again.
FTFY."backbeck and call"
I fixed it. I know how you feel, man. Especially when you have to quote it. Drives me nuts too.FTFY.
I had one similar, so I disconnected internet, uninstalled AV, went into device manager and uninstalled (not disabled) video, network and wifi drivers. Also uninstall nVidia/ATI drivers from "Programs and Features."
Manually ran the update, which completed without any issues.
Reinstall AV, devices and video drivers and we were good to go!
Hope this helps.
