Microsoft says that a known issue will block Windows 10 from booting after trying to restore the system to a restore point created before installing a Windows 10 update.

The issue affects all Windows machines where system protection is turned on and a system restore point has been created prior to installing one or more Windows 10 updates.

When users try to restore the system after the Windows 10 updates have finished installing, the system will not be restored and, instead, "the computer experiences a Stop error (0xc000021a)" and, after restarting the computer, the system will not be able to return to the Windows desktop.

Frack! ...and here I just had mentioned how System Restore has been a pretty robust fail safe. I didn't see that they are going to resolve the problem either, just make us jump through hoops on a work-around.

waaaa!!! I want to go back to Linux.......

Just had this issue on the bench was able to use the recovery feature to remove the updates then rerun a system restore got it going.

System restore is not how you roll back a feature release...

Also, use Pro, and set yourself to hold updates for at least 90 days. Being on Home just means being a beta tester.

Its not rolling back a feature release that causes this issue it was last batch of regular updates when you try to use system restore it blue screens what it does is break system restore if you installed the updates.

I believe runing the system restore in safe mode will help to get pass this issue. and if we are in really bad luck due to grace of great MS then it should also fail.
