Today I just finished building my cousin a EVGA GTX 275 with Windows 7 64bit and its is extremely buggy as in some of the Steam Powered games either stutter as they are launched OR, play with a stutter from time to time. I'm hoping to gain some wisdom from the forum while I trouble shoot some more after school. Here is some standard troubleshooting information.

(Latest Nvidia Driver in use)

ASUS P5kpl AM SE (Latest Bios)
Intel E7500 Wolfdale
Earthwatts 650 (voltages tested and check out)
500GB WD BLUE Short Tested
2x2 GB DDR 800 Memtested 0 errors
Windows 7 Home Premium (fully updated)

Games:
Left 4 dead 2 demo (unplayable artifacts extreme stuttering and multiple solid rectangles everywhere)
Counter Strike Source (playable artifacts until I move around the map with an intermittent stutter) The video stress test works flawlessly.

AtiTool shows the cube @ 900-1000 fps. (no artifacts, normal)

Interesting that when I tested 3dmark06 demo and it scored a 12,000 and ran perfectly without a glitch.

Tonight I plan on running a memory test program for testing video RAM. But other then downgrading to an XP home install I'm all out of ideas.

Does anyone follow windows 7 issues. Is there gaming issues on the 64 bit or the new Nvidia drivers? I'm unable to find any solid information. Other then the usually "its sucks" or "its great" I just want to make sure the bugs are software related instead of hardware, I only have 5 more days before I cannot return or exchange the GPU card.

Im so frustrated. Thanks in advance.

(after I run Left 4 dead 2 i have to close the program via alt+ctrl+del and when I restart the computer runs chkdsk?)

Well that sucks .. I was goin' to get the mrs to get me a 275 for Christmas ..

Off the top of my head (without doin' any searching) all I can think of at the moment is maybe a downgrade in driver ?

I've known Nvidia's latest drivers to be shite :)

I've got a 6200+ TC in my desktop; and last time I went to upgrade the drivers I ended up havin' problems. So I downloaded a driver for it a couple of versions back from the latest ..

Let us know how you get on :) (I'm interested anyway)

Hey Methical thanks for your interest.

I just ran the first video memory test.

Its called. Video Memory stress Test v1.7.116

It failed 12 minutes in. Im going to run it again. Im thinking Ive found my culprit.

The type of artifacts are similar to when I used to overclock my old ATI graphics card memory. Giant squares of pink all over the screen. I bought the card at a hole in the wall shop. Im very worried Im going to have to fight to return it. No more going the cheap route. Frys or Newegg even though newegg is getting pricey.

Methical the last ditch effort was to download the older drivers version 190. The newest drivers are 191. I now have full stability in the games. P.S. to the other techs 191 are installed by W7 by default.

Thanks!

Thats good that it worked ! Glad I could help out.

I didn't have any major problems when I upgraded my Nvidia drivers. Just that the 'Automatically place full screen appplications on second monitor' didn't work like it should've.. So I had to downgrade ..
