Windows Repair Toolbox

Hello everyone,

An updated version of Windows Repair Toolbox has been released, version 3.0.4.2.

### Changed
- In order to avoid false positives, the Nirsoft tools are no longer downloaded by default when the "Update All" button is clicked (for them to be downloaded, it's now required to select them in the "Update All" settings).
- Some other changes to the way the Nirsoft alerts are shown.
- In the "Hardware" section, replaced Furmark 1 (installer version), with Furmark 2 (portable versions).
- Updated the 7-Zip components to version 24.06.
- Some other internal updates.

### Removed
- Removed the auto updater for WRT itself. For the next versions, in order to update, a fresh download of the program will be necessary. Backup / Restore of the customizations (custom logo, name, etc.) and custom tools can be performed from the "Settings" tab.

### Fixed
- Removed "CompIntRepair" (a tool removed in the previous version of WRT) from the "Update All" settings.

If you have any suggestions to improve, or bugs to report, please let me know.

Thank you!

Thanks Alex,

Hmmm the "Updater" was so handy. Will it be back or is it manual only henceforth?

Hello everyone,

An updated version of Windows Repair Toolbox has been released, version 3.0.4.5.

### Added
Hardware Section:
Introduced "RAMinfo," a feature that displays detailed RAM specifications, such as memory type, capacity, speed, and available slots, helping users evaluate upgrade options.

Useful Tools Section: Introduced "BitLocker OFF," a feature that disables BitLocker/Device Encryption on the system drive by running the manage-bde -off command.

Notes Tab: Added an "X" button to delete downloaded Nirsoft Tools from this tab.

Bottom Panel: Added a clickable "+info" label that opens a window displaying useful system and network details, which can be copied to the clipboard.

### Changed
Hardware Section:
Replaced Crucial System Scanner (due to reliability issues) with the web-based Crucial Upgrade Selector Tool. Added functionality to assist in selecting the computer manufacturer and model.

Backup & Recovery Section: Replaced Recuva with its portable version from PortableApps.com (rcvPortable). Although it’s the previous version (v1.53.2096, released on 13 Jun 2023) compared to the current one (v1.54.120, released on 26 Jun 2024), using a portable application is preferable, as it doesn’t require installation, reducing the risk of overwriting data on the machine where file recovery is needed.

Update Section: Replaced PatchMyPC with RuckZuck, as the portable version of PatchMyPC has been discontinued.

Final Tests Tab: Replaced the "Java" test with a "BitLocker" test, checking the status of BitLocker/Device Encryption on the system drive.

Final Tests Tab: Updated the "Action Center" button to also open the Windows Security home panel.

General: Updated 7-Zip components to version 24.09.

Miscellaneous: Various internal updates, improvements, and code cleanup.

### Removed
Hardware Section:
Removed RamExpert (discontinued).

Hardware Section & Final Tests Tab: Removed the 32-bit version of HeavyLoad (discontinued).

Useful Tools Section: Removed the shortcut to the Ninite website, replaced by the "BitLocker OFF" functionality.

### Fixed
Repairs Section:
Corrected the functionality of the Office Uninstaller button, as the tool now runs through the Windows Get Help app instead of being a standalone download.

Notes Tab: Fixed an issue where inserting a timestamp using the clock icon caused previous text formatting to be lost.

Final Tests Tab: Resolved a bug where using the right-click context menu option "Delete all tools in this section" on the "StressTest" button caused unexpected behavior.

If you have any suggestions to improve, or bugs to report, please let me know.

Thank you!
