Anydesk

I have had problems with Emsisoft Anti-Malware killing AnyDesk when it prompts the user for elevated permissions. Frustrating. I report false positives when I can but it still happens. My benefit of the doubt assumption is that AnyDesk pushes a new build which starts the false positive cycle over. I don't care as much anymore since I stopped selling Emsisoft to my customers.

Other than that AnyDesk is a great product. I went for the Pro tier because of the custom client support. I don't care about branding but I wanted to have a TeamViewer QuickSupport-style download that doesn't prompt the user to install when the session is over.

Funny thing is the file passes the virustotal check. Luckily I don't have any users on Emsisoft anti malware. Thanks

As @kurros mentioned, I want/need a TV style Quick support module as well so I would have to get the Pro version of AnyDesk.
But at US$229 (AU$301.38) p/y that's actually $22 more than my TeamViewer sub!

I just tested out Anydesk... it's not bad. Clean interface. Only thing is I noticed a bit of input lag compared to TV on the same computers. But not a bad one, and the price is great for the lite license.

Did you hit the screen icon at the top right and experiment with the various settings to optimize reaction time? I think it defaults to "Balanced", but I always choose better reaction time rather than video quality and don't really miss any loss on the video side.

Ya I played around with that. Balance, optimised for graphics, and the faster one. It's decent though. I wouldn't bock at it with that price.

Why would any legitimate tech want to blank/hide a clients screen from them??
I can assure you that I am legitimate.
Some of the staff of some of my clients are wannabe technicians who are earning slightly more than minimum wage.
My knowledge is based upon decades of experience and I am not about to give away the tools of the trade (including how to use them properly) to this type of staff.
Exceptions, of course, would be sharing on forums such as TN.
They then try to fix the issues themselves and this causes all sorts of issues including the obvious.
I have been through this numerous times and it can get very ugly.

BTW - Screen Connect has this ability to hide the screen.
Why are they including this feature if I am the only one who thinks this way?

I can see the point with business clients. I need to have trust with my Home clients thanks to all the scammers from "Microsoft". I don't hide what I am doing. If they want to buy their own copys of what I used during service and try to figure out everything I did in the future oh well.
