- The Fusion install/unintall occurred strictly on the account that was having the BSOD issues.

So fusion is installed per account? Not global? That's unusual these days.

It can be, but I didn't say that it was. And the fact that it showed up when I was logged in to a different account pretty strongly suggests that Fusion had been installed "for all users" and left traces "for all users."
