Aside from Classic shell is their another?

Classic Shell stopped their product classic shell, a windows 10 (windows 7 emulator) let's customers have the windows 7 flavor of menu systems. Are their any other options for this?

I've actually discovered that the missing "start button" was more of a problem in my mind than most of my customers. If someone really, really wants the old style start button classic shell still worked last time I tried. I've used startisback as well, cheap money.

What I usually do is put a short cut to the old style control panel in task bar. Plus whatever other shortcuts that matter, like apps, etc to the task bar or desktop.

Similar experience here. In the early days of W10 we were installing classic start on the majority of new systems. After multiple instances of it breaking on feature upgrades we stopped recommending it; only installing when specifically asked for. Turns out that was only a small number of people.

More recently, I can only think of one install in the last 12 months.

Usual Windows 10 setup now involves:
- Uninstall/un-pin all the games and bloatware.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent\DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures = 1
- Pin actual useful items to start menu (Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Control Panel, Chrome, Word, Outlook etc).

Same here. On every machine that comes through. Put it in place of the Task View Button which I delete. I have yet to meet a customer that knew or used the Task View button on the Taskbar.

I pretty much always hide cortana, hide search box, hide task view, hide people, unpin Edge, unpin Mail, unpin Store.

When I go to that page, the clsid column is too narrow and truncates the clsid. I've tried IE, Firefox and Chrome, same issue. Anybody else have this problem?

I had that problem too but it went away, not sure what I did. May have been when I logged in to the site. That was a couple of days ago. When I pull it up now in Chrome, it's still truncated, but I can scroll to the side.
