Opinions. What is/was the best cartoon(s)?

The Simpsons.

I enjoyed the old Warner Brothers cartoons from the 50's/60's70's. Bugs Bunny/Road Runner show, Saturday morning TV.

Many of them aren't shown anymore, seen as not politically/socially correct by todays nanny society.

On the modern front...I sometimes catch Archer.

Grew up on Nickeoldeon in the 1990's and Disney. Simpsons is also one of my favorites.

So many good ones to choose from ...

Bob's Burgers has to be one of the best recent productions.

Morel Orel is another that springs to mind: A short-lived but funny series (although some may find it a little offensive).

Then there's The Simpsons of course, Beavis and Butt-head, King of the Hill (another personal favourite) ...

Old school cartoons ... I think probably Road Runner has to be the best there.


A couple that I think deserve a mention, which aren't strictly speaking cartoons, but very funny and entertaining nevertheless: Mongrels (puppet comedy) and Modern Toss (a mixture of actors and animation).

The classic Bugs Bunny, Roadrunner, Coyotee, Duck, are great... but Elmer Fudd takes the cake.

I never really much cared for Tiny Toons though. Tom and Jerry were just okay, Flinstones, and the Jetsons were decent, too.

As for Nick, I sometimes watched Doug and Rugrats, but Ren & Stimpey were better. Real Monsters was terrible.

Disney's Gummi Bears were okay, but DuctTales & Chip N' Dale were great. TaleSpin took the cake as my all time favorite...Darkwing Duck was decent as was Goof Troop. Aladdin was okay, too, but Gargoyes was not very good.


Simpsons was okay as was Bevis and Butthead, but King of the Hill was better. I really like Furturama.

I forgot about Tom & Jerry...yeah the old old ones...I dug those. The newer ones in the 80's..not so much.

Old school looney tunes, stuff like the fist batman and robin cartoon (the animated series)
all of the disney cartoons like talespin, ducktales, goof troop... inspector gadget, heathcliff,
pink panther, flintstones and the jetsons, a fair bit of the 90's nickoloden lineup, loved the
beetlejuice cartoon, king of the hill, simpsons (the first 8-10 seasons), family guy (mostly
the first 7 or 8 seasons), really like futurama, squidbillies is good, robot chicken is decent.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pretty good. I liked the first few seasons of spongebob.

Most of the really awesome cartoons came from the 80's and 90's.

Yup, that was my steady diet on Saturday mornings as well. My favorites were the ones where they worked in classical music. Had to look up the titles, but look on youtube for "Long Haired Hair" and "Rabbit of Seville". There were others, too.

Charlie Brown & Company. Not sure if it played in the US but back in the late 60's early 70's we had Speed Racer, Japanese cartoon, on in Brasil.
