Blue Screen after fresh install

So I'm assuming as of right now it's ok? The ram trick worked?

Well here is an update. Vista install has now reached the point to enter in a user name for first time creation (way past the point it failed before). So it looks like removing the stick of RAM has solved the unable to install Vista issue.

Yes, removing one of the sticks of RAM allowed me to complete the Vista install from start to finish and do all updates. I put the RAM back in and windows is showing 4GB as it should.

Cool, that was my next question if it still worked after putting the other stick back in. Pretty random fix but I guess you'll take it.

It is very random IMO, however it worked. The only obscure reason I can think of for this working would have to do with the 4GB limit of a 32 bit version of Vista vs the 64 Bit I was installing... but that is a stretch to justify.

It is a shrug moment and remember for next time.
