Business Idea?

That was a concearn for me to PClink.. keeping enough business to keep everyone interested.

The Idea of a "DEPOT".. would be where the "Techs" live so to speak. The Reps could be from an neighbourhood, or the next town over. For the reps and the customers, everything appears local. So the customer feels the close personal service from the REP. The logistics have to be worked out for sure. Here would be a typical "day" for a rep

1) Client in town A calls the "PC Solutions" number thier friend gave them cause they think they have a virus.

2)PC Solutions says I'll come by and see them. or maybe he has a small storefront..

3) PC solutions arrives at 10:00 am, meets the client, tells them it will cost them 75.00 and will be a 24 -48 hour turn around.

4) PC Solutions makes a few other calls and returns "home" at 2:00 PM with 5 pc's

5) Does a little paperwork for each PC.

6) 4:00 PM Delivery guy shows up picks up the 5 PC's and drops the other 3 from yesterday off with an INVOICE for the REP for thoes 3.

7) PC solutions returns yesterdays 3 PC's( or waits till trip out tomorrow) charges whatever he feel is appropriate lets say 75.00 , 100.00 and 130,00.

8) PC Solutions returns home, sees the Invoice for the DEPOT as 50, 60, and 80.00 respectively then sends off a Payment however..

His profit from the 3 pc day was 115.00 for 3 or 4 hours work... the next day may be 200.00 for 3 or 4 hours work.. The Rep is a good business person, an possibly a terrible Tech, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to help each other. The beauty comes in 10 reps from 10 different towns or locations in town.. we're talking profits for the business in the min range after techs are paid, of 2500+ a day..

The big problem I think you will run into, at least getting people who are retired or not in business full time, is making sure they have enough work for you. If you were to work with other businesses, as long as there was some "synergy" there, I can see that possibly working. The marketing of this is going to be key, and I'm not sure you will get enough who are good at that and can see a big enough profit.

Marketing Budget and Plan

If you had a big enough budget for marketing and could get 5 PC's a day from each rep that would be great! It's a tough market out there, at least for me it seems that way. Marketing will be big to drum up enough business for people to come in and give you work.

Other thing to consider, if I go to a shop I would expect the person I'm talking with to have a good understanding of the items I'm wanting to buy. In this case it would be computers/technology or services for computers/technology. If a Rep isn't computer savvy, it could be a turn off to some customers from doing business with you.

You could maybe do a test run to see how much business you bring in for one location. Good luck to ya! :)
