Can't Save Files Except on Desktop

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to figure out why my client can't save photos anywhere except on her desktop (and you should see her desktop now).

She is on Windows 8 currently. Came in for a cleanup / virus removal. The computer is running slower than grandma runs a 5k Working on fixing the TiWorker.exe issue.

Wow. That's weird.

What happens when she tries to save elsewhere? What kind of malware had it's way with her PC?

I'd be leaning towards a refresh at this point, but get a system image as a CYA.

And it's only photos she can't save anywhere else? Does it do this on all accounts? If not might be worth just creating a new account and migrating data across (Fabs autobackup for the win!)

If it has malware, may be a permissions issue. Try Tweaking AIO.

I would give Tweaking AIO a try, I have seen it fix some quirky things.

agreed especially with permission issues...it's been a great tool to fix a lot of those.

So after doing a remote session with the client today. I found that it was just the library she couldn't save to and got an error message.
library-ms no longer working

Easy Fix: just delete the libraries and right click library and rebuild. It worked, 2 minutes of work.

Had that problem before but your original post described a different problem.

Yep, my post before was from the client description and was trying to figure out if I should do a wipe and restore (which I can't do since I do only remote support). As most people if you can't save in one spot YOU CAN'T SAVE ANY WHERE, lol. Thanks for everyone's help.

Thanks for the update. Another example of taking everything the client says with a large pinch of salt.
